Cybersecurity & Information Security

Effective information security and protection of company assets are the backbone of the digitization of processes and services.

As organizations and businesses adopt digital transformation at an ever-growing pace, the importance of effective information security grows with it. As a result, the scope, volume and sophistication of threats to digital assets (and thereby to business continuity) keep growing exponentially. The management discussion therefore often centers on the following challenges:

  • Building a Process of Continuous Improvement

Organizations and businesses today must continuously improve and adapt their information security, while meeting the need for ever-growing external connections that are exposed to cyber attacks — attacks that, for their part, keep getting more sophisticated.

  • Staying Compliant

Maintaining compliance while exercising judgment about risk.

  • Customer Experience & Service

Enabling an improved customer experience and better service, together with operational convenience — while meeting regulation and maintaining appropriate information security.

Lavi Software Services has the experience, the knowledge and the right technology vendors to help organizations and businesses meet these challenges. We will help your organization or business build a healthy process of continuous improvement and sustained resilience against current and future challenges.

  • Security Consulting

Lavi's consulting rests on a mature, broad foundation of knowledge and experience. Information security is the bedrock of success and the basis for everything your organization or business values. Achieving security you can rely on — that is the motivation behind our service. We provide preventive, responsive and continuous protection for your digital information.

  • Security Compliance

Whether a public organization or a business — clients invest enormous time and effort in meeting a large number of required standards and regulations, often overlapping and demanding repeated case-by-case audits. As a result, considerable resources are wasted preparing for and accompanying these audits. We help clients streamline and exploit synergies across these processes to save resources, while fully meeting every requirement.

  • Security Services

Lavi Software Services offers its clients managed services and consulting. We have developed a stable, robust and reliable security process — through experts with cross-domain knowledge and through trusted vendors of leading technologies. We support clients not only with consulting and the supply of prevention and protection measures for their projects, but specifically with the planning, implementation, delivery and maintenance of the various systems.

What we check first

Many security incidents in businesses don't start with a sophisticated attack but with a door left open. These are the doors we close first.

  • Email and accounts

Two-factor authentication on email, admin systems and cloud accounts, and a password policy people can actually live with.

  • Backup and restore

3-2-1 backups with an offline copy, and a real restore test — that is what decides whether ransomware is an incident or a disaster.

  • Permissions and former staff

Who can see what, and who is still connected although they no longer work with you — external vendors included.

  • Updates and endpoints

Up-to-date operating systems, browsers and software, and protection for the computers and phones that join the network.

  • Domain and email

SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for your domain — so nobody can send convincing fake emails in the company's name.

  • Incident response plan

What to do the moment something happens: who to call, what to disconnect, and how to get back to work.

Business information security FAQ

Short answers to the questions that come up on every first call.

Does a small business really need information security?
Yes — small businesses are an easy target precisely because nobody is usually in charge of it. Most basic protection doesn't need a big budget: two-factor authentication, a tested backup, updates and tidy permissions.
What is the difference between a risk assessment and a penetration test?
A risk assessment maps the organization's assets, threats and gaps and prioritizes what to fix first. A penetration test is a controlled attempt to break into a specific system to see whether the defenses actually work. Usually you start with the assessment; a pen test comes when there is an exposed system to test.
What is a managed security service (MSSP)?
Instead of hiring an in-house security team, we run your information security on an ongoing basis: monitoring, updates, permissions, backups and incident handling — with one point of contact who knows your systems.
Does Amendment 13 to Israel's Privacy Protection Law apply to us?
If the business holds personal data about customers or employees — most likely yes. Amendment 13 to the Privacy Protection Law took effect in August 2025 and tightened both the obligations and the penalties. We help with the technical side of information security; for legal questions, consult a lawyer.
How often should information security be reviewed?
Information security is an ongoing process, not a one-off project: continuous monitoring and updates, regular backup restore tests, and a structured review at least once a year and with every significant change — a new system, a cloud migration or a new vendor.
